Why our preschool
Emma Richardson
“Our whānau have had the privilege of working alongside Paihia Early Childhood Centre to grow our 3 kids into kind, caring, conscientious people over the last five years.
They provide a stable, calm, positive environment, with absolutely dedicated kaiako who day in day out reflect the centres core values. We see our kids feel happy in themselves, learning new skills and developing strategies to deal with a range of situations.
The transition each of our children had to begin their journey at the centres nursery was personalised, well communicated and enjoyable. We felt so supported! It was a space our children loved to be in.
As they have grown downstairs in the Over 2s, we have noticed the kaiako treat each little person as an individual, taking the time to understand, record and communicate each child’s journey. We feel so lucky to have this level of care and support, and take our hats off to the centre for creating this culture!”

“Our family started our daycare journey with PECC in 2017 with our first daughter who started in the nursery at eleven months old and transitioned through the nursery and preschool until she turned five and was ready to start school. We have two other children who are also currently attending PECC; one in the nursery and one in preschool. I could not recommend this centre enough, they are an extension of our own whānau and our children have absolutely flourished under their care and guidance.
From the first visits in the nursery we all felt very welcomed, at ease and comfortable. A comprehensive care plan was discussed and each child’s individual likes and dislikes were noted, which made settling in to daycare easy.
Preschool has been an integral part in our children becoming who they are, they have grown in confidence and have learnt many skills which are a testament to the consistent structure, support and learning opportunities offered by the teachers and staff.
A special mention to the kitchen team who have provided a variety of delicious and nutritious kai ❤️
We are endlessly grateful to the team at PECC and will forever cherish our time spent here.”

“My son Harlem has been attending the Paihia Early Childhood Centre since he turned one and he is only months away from starting school. I’d had four years previously with the local kindergarten, but decided to look for a more structured and routine childcare centre. The Paihia Early Childcare Centre ticked all the boxes that I was looking for. A great Teacher child ratio, set routines during the day, a clean and tidy facility, new and educational toys and games, great outside facilities with water play to name a few. My son has a health condition, which has him monitored daily; a written report of his food and drink intake was provided to me. When ever I had an issue that was of concern to me, I have always felt my concerns were dealt with promptly and efficiently. The teachers are very approachable and understanding. No issue is too big or too small. I have felt all the teachers display a genuine interest in the children and are beyond professional which, I believe is strength of this childcare centre. I do not hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family.”

“Sofia has been attending Paihia Early Childhood Centre for the last 3 1/2 years. In this time she has been allowed to develop and learn important life skills and has thoroughly enjoyed herself. The staff have a very high level of professionalism and coupled with their friendly personal attention to detail. This making a huge influence on the person she is today. We are truly grateful to them all for this and can not speak highly enough of the organisation and the people. We totally recommend them to any parent, guardian or Care giver.
When Sofia had her first week at school she quickly progressed to level 2, a testament to her learning and the high level of teaching she had received. We were impressed with this head start she has been given. Both Sofia and ourselves will miss their happy smiling faces but will never forget our time there.”
